S-GAME Postponed Phantom Blade Zero - The Game Will Now Be Released In Late October

As part of State of Play, the S-GAME studio presented a new trailer for their upcoming RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, which, compared to other major releases this year, looks like a dark horse. Unfortunately, shortly after the presentation ended, the developers made another announcement concerning the new release date of the game.

The release of Phantom Blade Zero was originally scheduled for September 9, but on the game's official page on X, the developers announced that they had to postpone the game's release by almost 2 months - to October 29. This decision is due to the studio needing additional time and resources to polish the game so that it looks as good as possible. They also announced that another new game trailer will be released soon, pre-orders will open, and a special State of Play episode dedicated specifically to Phantom Blade Zero - the game world, combat system, and other details - will be held.

“Hello everyone,

As many of you just saw in today’s State of Play, pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero will open this summer!

At the same time, I want to share another update: Phantom Blade Zero will now launch on October 29, 2026, moved from its previous date of September 9, 2026.

First of all, I want to offer my sincere apologies to all the players who have been following and supporting us. This was not an easy decision. More than anyone, we understand the expectations our players have placed on us. And precisely because of those expectations, we do not want to release Phantom Blade Zero knowing there is still an opportunity to take it one step further.

We will share the exact dates in upcoming announcements!

Once again, thank you all for your continued support!

The decision to postpone Phantom Blade Zero may also be related to the fact that several major projects are set to be released in September. At State of Play, it was confirmed that Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall will be released on September 24, and the next day Capcom will release Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Not to mention that on September 3 a new RPG from the former creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Blood of Dawnwalker, will be released, and on September 15, Marvel's Wolverine will be released. The reason for such a dense schedule may be related to the fact that GTA 6 is coming out in November, and most studios want to release their projects earlier in order to attract players and earn as much as possible.

Phantom Blade Zero is the upcoming action-RPG single-player title from Chinese studio S-GAME. The game combines elements of Chinese martial fantasy called wuxia, as well as steampunk. The main character of Phantom Blade Zero is a warrior named Soul, who was accused of killing his mentor, but in reality, he did not commit it. After receiving a mortal wound, he has exactly 66 days to live, and during this time he must find the real perpetrators of his mentor's murder and take revenge on them.
