Atari and Digital Eclipse Announced Toy Story: Retro Roundup! And Disney•Pixar Toy Story 3 Complete Edition

The fifth installment of the Toy Story animated film premieres this month, yet quite unexpectedly, two new video games set in that universe have just been announced—well, sort of new video games.

Digital Eclipse and Atari have announced a pair of new projects set within the Toy Story universe. The first, Disney•Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! - the collection featuring several classic titles, including:

• 1995's Original Toy Story
• 1999's Toy Story 2 (featuring two different versions, including Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!)
• 2000's Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
• 2001's Toy Story Racer

Furthermore, the developers have included 1998's A Bug’s Life and introduced a variety of modern quality-of-life features, such as save states, a training mode, various cheat codes, and much more.

The second project is no less, and perhaps even more, impressive: a remaster of Disney•Pixar Toy Story 3 Complete Edition. The original game, released in 2010, recreated the plot of the animated film in detail; this version, however, features updated graphics, an increased draw distance, and content previously exclusive to certain platforms. It is surprising that two games of this scale were announced today rather than at upcoming gaming events like the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest, which are taking place this week. Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition are scheduled for release on October 15 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2.
