Capcom Teases Resident Evil Requiem’s Villain Might Return in the Future
Resident Evil Requiem, released by Capcom this year, has become one of the best parts of the franchise. It also gave the series a breath of fresh air by introducing a new main heroine, Grace Ashcroft, as well as several iconic villains and creepy monsters.
One such villain became Zeno, whom, with a high degree of probability, most gamers confused with Albert Wesker due to his outrageous appearance. Not much is known about him, except that he works for The Connections—an organization that created Eveline in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
Recently, Resident Evil Requiem producer Masato Kumazawa gave an interview to the Japanese publication Futabasha, in which he hinted that Xeno could potentially be involved in future Resident Evil installments, despite what happened to him in Requiem. According to the producer, the villain embodies the future of bioterrorism and is an extremely important figure. The highlights from his interview you can check out below:
"In the story, Gideon is a former Umbrella researcher and a delusional believer in Spencer (founder of Umbrella Corporation, which developed the Oswell E. Spencer/T-virus). It is a character that symbolizes the “past” as bioterrorism, such as being called the "ghost of Umbrella" by Leon. In the Leon arc, the position was to clear up the past “Raccoon Incident.”
On the other hand, in contrast to Gideon, Zeno is a member of an organization called Connection that is lurking behind the scenes, and I think he is in a position that hints at the future of bioterrorism.
We are happy to receive so much such feedback from our players. We also think of Zeno as one of our most important characters."
Considering that a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem is in development, it is possible that Zeno will appear in it, and we will learn more about his past. Nevertheless, at the moment this is nothing more than speculation.
At the same time, according to the leaker, who previously predicted the plot of the main game, the game will feature two story expansions – one dedicated to Leon S. Kennedy and Alyssa Ashcroft, and the second to Chris Redfield and Ada Wong.
