One of the most anticipated projects of this year is Onimusha: Way of the Sword - the long-awaited continuation of another franchise from Capcom, a studio that has already released two hits this year - Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata. The release date of the game is still unknown, but a new leak reveals when it will become available.

According to information from insider asdf, who previously leaked information about Ubisoft projects - Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and Rayman Legends Retold—Capcom will release Onimusha: Way of the Swords on September 25 this year, which he wrote about on his X page.

In the mentioned post, the insider wrote on September 26, but one of the social network users noted that Capcom does not release their games on Saturday, and the insider then corrected himself and confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released a day earlier. From the developers themselves, there has been no information so far, but we have several gaming events ahead, including State of Play (June 2), Summer Game Fest (June 5-8), and Xbox Games Showcase (June 7), so it is possible that the game's release date will be announced at one of the upcoming events. Another insider, NateTheHate, also confirmed that the game will release this year.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword follows the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi, who is fighting against demonic creatures from the beyond world. The game also does not have any connection to previous installments and is positioned as a soft reboot by Capcom. The gameplay of Onimusha: Way of the Sword still reminds of the older game series titles, as it includes a linear adventure with separate open areas, similar to another Capcom franchise - Resident Evil, as well as sword duels and a combat system focused on parries, counterattacks, and instant finishers. The developers also confirmed that the ability to absorb souls will return to the game, but there will also be new mechanics affecting the gameplay.
