Terminal War, Inspired by The Last of Us: Factions, Gets Its First Teaser Trailer

As is known, Naughty Dog cancelled the multiplayer game in The Last of Us universe called Factions, which upset many of their fans. But this also became a motivation for the developers from Albatross Interactive studio to create their own version of the game, the debut teaser trailer of which was presented recently.

Recently, the digital gaming exhibition Insider Gaming Showcase took place, where attention was given to upcoming video games being developed by small studios. After the announcement in March of this year, Albatross Interactive presented the debut teaser trailer of their project, Terminal War, which is not just inspired by The Last of Us: Factions but is positioned as its full replacement, and also revealed some details about the game.

The events of Terminal War take place in a fictional version of the USA in 1999, six years after the end of World War III, where three factions fight for control. In an interview with Insider Gaming, one of the game developers, Alec Favale, revealed that the studio intends to create a brutal combat system in Terminal War, where timing and positioning are decisive factors. Players are free to choose whether to use stealth or an aggressive approach, but in any case, the battlefield will adapt to your style. Another main feature of Terminal War will be the constant shortage of ammunition, which is scarce, and where the smart use of found resources is the key to survival.

Terminal War is the co-op tactical 4v4 shooter focused on realistic gameplay. It will include three factions:

• The Federal Faction (F.MF.) – powerful, aggressive & unified.
• The Free States Faction (L.S.U.C.) – an alliance of states fighting for their independence.
• The Rebellion Faction (The Banshees) – grassroots militias rising from local strongholds.

The developers also confirmed the official trailer will be released later in 2026. Terminal War is in development for PC and PlayStation 5, and its release date is currently unknown.
