Stranger Than Heaven Presentation Became the Most Viewed on Xbox YouTube Channel

At the beginning of this month, a live broadcast of the game Stranger Than Heaven - a new project from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developers of the Yakuza series - took place on the official Xbox YouTube channel. As statistics show, the game has broken all kinds of viewership records and is extremely popular on the YouTube channel.

Internet users have noticed that the presentation of Stranger Than Heaven became the most viewed live stream in the history of the Xbox YouTube channel, significantly surpassing events like Xbox E3 2017 Briefing and Xbox Games Showcase 2025. For comparison, at the moment, the presentation of Stranger Than Heaven has over 14 million views, while the two streams following it have 2.6 million and 2.1 million, respectively. This is a significant success for the game and for the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, as the project is not as heavily advertised as GTA VI, 007 First Light, or Marvel's Wolverine.

During the Stranger Than Heaven showcase, new gameplay of the game was shown, as well as new gameplay-related and other details revealed. The developers confirmed that the game's story spans 50 years of history—from 1915 to 1965. We play as a character named Makoto Daito, who, being half Japanese and half American, leaves the US at a young age and returns to his homeland in search of information about his family. On the ship he is traveling on, he meets a smuggler named Orpheus (played by Snoop Dogg), and upon arriving in Japan, they start a business dedicated to music.

Stranger Than Heaven also has a unique combat system, since players separately control the left and right sides of the main character. The game is set to release this winter on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
