Insider Shared New Multiplayer Details of Hogwarts Legacy 2

The sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is one of many games confirmed to be in development but still hasn’t been formally announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment or the developing studio, Avalanche Software. We have seen some rumors about the game over the past few months, and considering that several major gaming events are planned ahead, such as Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase, it is possible that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will find a place at one of them for an official reveal.

Until this happens, PlayStation insider TCMFGames shared some details about Hogwarts Legacy 2; specifically, he confirms previous rumors that the game will feature multiplayer, as Avalanche Software recently hired a senior software engineer to work on some multiplayer elements - player data matchmaking lobbies, and servers. Although there is no official confirmation and details about online mode in Hogwarts Legacy 2, an insider also reveals that players will be able to play Quidditch online, as well as hints on a potential release window, as you can check out below:

• Hogwarts Legacy 2 could be launching in 2027 with WB teasing return to big franchise in 27/28
• Avalanche Software had a job listing last year for a Senior Software Engineer
• The role mentioned online multiplayer RPG
• The role focused on backend infrastructure including player data matchmaking lobbies and servers
• This seems to hint at MP being a thing Hogwarts Legacy 2 which is a feature people have been asking for after the first game
• Quidditch multiplayer would be a highlight with matchmaking

Last month, PotterWorldwide shared that Quidditch will appear in Hogwarts Legacy 2 – a feature that was missed in the original title. We also heard that players will be able to travel across some locations from Harry Potter lore, such as Privet Drive, Diagon Alley, and some London streets, and game’s plot might be related to the upcoming HBO’s Harry Potter TV series.

The official announcement of Hogwarts Legacy 2 is expected for the abovementioned Summer Game Fest (June 5-8) with the release date somewhere in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
