IO Interactive Announced 007 First Light Has Gone Gold and Confirmed to Release on May 27
007 First Light, the latest title from IO Interactive (Hitman, Kane & Lynch game series), is preparing to release their new IP this month, on May 27, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with a version for Nintendo Switch 2 arriving later this year. The latest statement from developers confirms the game won’t be delayed, as 007 First Light has officially gone gold.
The announcement comes from the X social media of 007 First Light itself. It also offers you to make a pre-order to get a free deluxe edition upgrade.
“007 First Light has gone gold!
See you on May 27th for this re-imagined origin story.

Recently, the studio also confirmed that 007 First Light will run at PlayStation 5 Pro with 60 FPS, while the standard edition of the console will offer 60 FPS in 'Performance' mode and 30 FPS in 'Quality' mode.
007 First Light is also the most expensive project in the history of IO Interactive, which was confirmed by the CEO of the company, Hakan Abrak, during the interview with The Game Business. In the same interview, he also revealed that the studio will return to Hitman franchise after the release of 007 First Light and Project Fantasy —a mysterious online RPG developed by the studio and funded by some unnamed major publisher.
007 First Light is confirmed to release on May 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and later in 2026 it will be available on Nintendo Switch 2.
