New Worms Video Game Reportedly In Works and Leaked Before Official Announcement

It looks like Team17, who are known as the developers of Worms game series, is currently testing a new entry in the franchise, which became public thanks to the leak from one of the users, who apparently is participating in the testing of a new game. Nevertheless, even this leak has an interesting story.

It all started with a post from Assassin’s Creed leaker xj0nathan, who revealed the first image of a multiplayer Assassin’s Creed title, Codename Invictus. It was leaked from the game’s testing last month; however, Ubisoft reacted to this and confirmed the screenshot was heavily embellished with the help of artificial intelligence and differs from how the game currently looks. The user EvilLeaker joined the conversation and unexpectedly revealed the existence of a new game in the Worms universe, which apparently is in active development and last year underwent testing on Steam.

In his subsequent publications, he revealed screenshots of the gameplay and stated that the new part of Worms, which has the code name Project Arrakis, is a tactical game in the spirit of XCOM, where you use cover and can also blow up objects on the maps to deal with enemies faster. The insider also published a gameplay clip from the game, which is now deleted and unavailable for viewing.

Considering that the game testing apparently took place in August of last year, it is most likely that the game is in an advanced stage of development and may be officially confirmed soon. At the moment, Team17 has not commented on this leak in any way.
