Resident Evil Requiem Broke Another Record as Game Sold 7 Million Copies

This month, Capcom released their new IP—Pragmata—which not only turned out to be just as high-quality as the best Resident Evil games, as evidenced by the reviews on Steam, but it has also received strong sales.

The studio confirmed that Pragmata has sold 1 million copies in just 2 days, which is a tremendous result for Capcom’s new IP. The game is expected not only to see continued sales growth but also to secure a coveted spot in the Game of the Year category. However, the sales of another Capcom title, Resident Evil Requiem, are not stopping, as its director, Koshi Nakanishi, revealed that the game has sold 7 million copies. As revealed via Twisted Voxel, Capcom must be celebrating this and even decided to make themed cakes featuring the game's main characters—Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy.

Resident Evil Requiem has also become the fastest-selling title in the history of the franchise, which is remarkable considering the big sales and entirely positive reviews of Resident Evil 2: Remake and Resident Evil 4: Remake.

Capcom is confirmed to be working on a story expansion to Requiem, with DLC and a rumored remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica set to become the studio’s next product in the franchise.
