Newest Life is Strange Book Might Tease Crossover Bringing Franchise’s Main Characters Together

Released last month, Life is Strange: Reunion concludes the story of Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, giving fans the ending they may have been waiting for years—provided, of course, if you made the right choices throughout the main storyline. However, Deck Nine could still explore Life is Strange universe, and the recently released book just gave us what can be the next game series installment.

On April 15, Titan Books released the book Life is Strange: Welcome to Caledon University, written by Chris Farnell, which serves as an in-universe item and a student guide to Caledon University—the important location from Life is Strange: Double Exposure and especially in Life is Strange: Reunion. It’s important to say that the book is also not canon to Life is Strange games, but those who already owned it noticed that there are interesting expansions to Life is Strange universe.

For context: at the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, we see Diamond start bleeding, which suggests that, like Max, she has superpowers. Then we see her and Safi, who has the ability to change her appearance, set off together in an unknown direction. Unlike Diamond, Safi is appearing in Life is Strange: Reunion, but there is a feeling that Diamond is spending time studying his powers, as her words in the phone conversation with Max suggest.

In this regard, Life is Strange: Welcome to Caledon University book changes everything and offers a clear example of where the franchise could be headed. As noticed by X social media user willow winefield, the book reveals that Safi and Diamond were actually looking for Daniel from Life is Strange 2 and Alex from Life is Strange: True Colors, as they also possess superpowers. You can check out more information about Safi and Diamond searches below:

“In the Life is Strange: Welcome to Caledon book, apparently Safi and Diamond almost did find Daniel and Alex from Life is strange 2 and Life is strange: True Colors, that is CRAZY”

The book says Safi has headed to Seattle and was told a story about the cop, who “was killed by a kid who flipped a car” – that’s obvious reference to scene from Life is Strange 2, when Daniel finds out he has superpowers. Then, Diamond went to Haven Spring—the location from Life is Strange: True Colors—for “researching mining disasters and seeing if there are any cases of mysterious rescues or people surviving stuff.” She also said to meet someone who mentions a girl that used empathy on him—it's definitely Alex and her ability.

Like was said, Life is Strange: Welcome to Caledon University is not canon to Life is Strange game series, but, at the same time, it proposes a possible concept for a new installment of Life is Strange, in which we’ll see Safi and Diamond searching for the superpowered characters we already know. Alternatively, since this apparently takes place between Life is Strange: Double Exposure and Life is Strange: Reunion, it could also work as a DLC expansion. More information, posted by Reddit user AForce5223 on why Life is Strange: Welcome to Caledon University book is not canon, you can check out below:

"Comparison of the equivalent pages

Green Highlight: The publisher's choice of imagery and text for this book is not intended to canonize any particular story path from the games Life is Strange and Before the Storm. The publisher has used artistic license with timeframes to include written conversations between the characters. The book 'exists' before Max makes her final choice at the end of Life is Strange.

No such disclaimer exists for WtCU unlike the other expanded media

I currently believe, dispite my original post and comments about the book, that this is an oversight. Do with this information what you will (as if you weren't before)

My original post was put on twitter and I saw someone commenting on the disclaimers and realized the new book doesn't have one"

Although the story of Max and Chloe has been finished in Life is Strange: Reunion, Welcome to Caledon University book just gave us the perfect setup for the next Life is Strange game that could unite all gifted characters together—and for the fans, it definitely sounds like a win-win.
