Sony Pictures Is Working on Metal Gear Solid Movie Adaptation

Yet another familiar game series to receive a movie adaptation soon, as Sony Pictures confirmed to be working on film based on Konami’s Metal Gear Solid—and soon we will see an iconic Solid Snake on big screens.

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter confirms Sony Pictures will develop the upcoming movie, with Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Final Destination Bloodlines) set to direct. They already share their excitement over the Metal Gear Solid movie, as you can check out below:

It’s curious that recently Alan Ritchson, who is best known for Amazon’s Reacher, has revealed on his Instagram that he has a dream to play Solid Snake, as he commented on his post:

Given the fact that Metal Gear Solid movie is now confirmed, we have a great contender to play Solid Snake. However, Sony Pictures hasn’t revealed yet who will portray the character.

Metal Gear Solid is a stealth-action game series focused on espionage, nuclear threats, and complex political intrigue. You play as Solid Snake, a retired special forces operative who is trying to stop terrorists from launching a nuclear strike.
