Persona Remake Hints? New Merch Sparks Hope for Classic Game Revival
Some Persona fans are growing increasingly hopeful about potential remasters or remakes of the series’ earliest titles, following the release of new anniversary merchandise that may be hinting at something bigger behind the scenes.
Anniversary Merch Sparks Speculation
The speculation began with a newly released 30th anniversary merchandise line, featuring clothing and accessories inspired by characters from across the franchise. While that alone isn’t unusual, fans quickly noticed something interesting in the naming of items tied to the earliest games.

Instead of using the original titles—Revelations: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment—the products are labeled as “Persona 1 Origins” and “Persona 2 Duality.” These updated names have led many to believe that Atlus could be preparing modern versions of these classic entries.
A Gap in the Franchise’s History
For many players, Persona 3 marked the true starting point of the series, especially in the West. Earlier titles have remained largely inaccessible due to their age and limited availability, leaving a gap in the experience for newer fans who want to explore the origins of the franchise.
With the massive success of Persona 5, Atlus has already shown a willingness to revisit older content. Recent years have seen re-releases like Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, as well as the full remake Persona 3 Reload in 2024.
Not the First Time Remakes Were Discussed
The idea of revisiting the first two Persona games isn’t new. Back in September 2024, series producer Kazuhisa Wada mentioned that remaking Persona 1 and Persona 2 is something he would like to pursue in the future, though it wasn’t actively in development at the time.
No Official Confirmation—Yet
Despite the growing excitement, there has been no official announcement from Atlus or P-Studio confirming any remasters or remakes of the early titles. For now, the unusual naming in the merchandise remains the main source of speculation.
What is confirmed, however, is the upcoming Persona 4 Revival, a full remake first announced in June 2025, though it still lacks a release date.
For now, fans may have a reason to be hopeful—but expectations should remain grounded until something official is revealed.
