Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 introduces a major conflict between the Ice King and the Foundation, with players forced to choose a side in the Showdown. Regardless of that choice, powerful rewards are available across the map — including the newly added Ice King’s Gauntlets.

Where to Find the Ice King’s Gauntlets

The Gauntlets can be obtained at Frigid Fortress, where the Ice King boss is located. The area is marked on the map with a skull-and-crown icon.

To claim the weapon, players must defeat the Ice King, but the fight comes with an extra challenge. He is accompanied by Lady Windfrost, who supports him by throwing Chug Splashes. Eliminating her first is key to weakening the encounter.

The Ice King himself uses splash-damage attacks, making positioning crucial. Staying in cover and using high DPS weapons like SMGs is the most effective strategy to quickly bring down his health. Once defeated, he drops the Ice King’s Gauntlets along with a Chug Jug.

How the Ice King’s Gauntlets Work

The Gauntlets offer two unique abilities:

• Ice Attack: A ranged blast dealing 50 splash damage per hit, effective even without direct impact
• Ice Bomb: Creates a snow field that deals damage over time, ticking for 5 damage per second with a cooldown

The weapon comes with 100 charges and does not require reloading. Once the charges are depleted, it disappears.

With a potential total damage output of up to 5,000, the Ice King’s Gauntlets are one of the more powerful items this season. The splash damage allows players to hit enemies behind cover or at range, while the Ice Bomb is effective for forcing opponents out of defensive positions.
