CD Projekt RED Revealed How Many Developers Are Working on The Witcher 4
The Witcher 4 remains one of the most anticipated video games. Announced at The Game Awards 2024, it introduced Ciri as the protagonist, who took the place of Geralt of Rivia. The release date for the title remains unknown, but it doesn’t make the fans less excited about the game.
The game is definitely one of, if not the most ambitious titles from CD Projekt RED, and the fans are speculating how many employees are actually working on The Witcher 4. Well, during the recent financial earnings report for 2025, CD Projekt RED reveals there are 499 developers who are currently working on the game. For comparison, around 150 people have worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and by the end of development, the number increased to around 250. Plus, we know CD Projekt RED hired some experienced talents, like former producer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Alice Severova, and former cinematic animator of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Lucie Hennet.
Among the other news, last month developers of The Witcher 4 confirmed t hey will attend Unreal Fest 2026, where we can expect new information or even a trailer for the game to be revealed. During the financial earnings CD Projekt also revealed their new IP, Project Hadar, announced back in 2022, has now entered the conceptual phase —though it’s still at an early stage of development.
