ARC Raiders Confirms Flashpoint Update Release Date – New Content Arrives March 31
Developer Embark Studios has officially announced the release date for the next major update in ARC Raiders. The highly anticipated Flashpoint update will launch on March 31, bringing a fresh wave of content to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
While full patch details are still on the way, the game’s 2026 roadmap has already confirmed that this update will introduce a new ARC threat, a new map condition, and additional gameplay features.
Flashpoint Update Launches March 31
With March nearing its end, Embark Studios has confirmed that Flashpoint will release on Tuesday, March 31.
In a teaser shared on social media, the developers hinted at the upcoming content with the phrase: “Truth is scarce and rumors spread. The Flashpoint is coming.”
The teaser image shows three Raiders gathered at a bar in Speranza, sparking speculation within the community.
Some players believe this could hint at the long-requested social hub system, as Speranza has previously been described by the developers as “underutilized.” However, given the scale of such a feature, it is more likely that a full implementation would arrive in a later update.
What to Expect in the Flashpoint Update
Although Embark has yet to publish full patch notes, several key features have already been confirmed.
Players can expect:
- A brand-new ARC threat
- Another map condition
- A new Player Project
- Updates to Scrappy
The mention of Scrappy has drawn particular attention from the community. After receiving a UI overhaul in a previous update, many players believe Flashpoint could expand its functionality, potentially allowing greater material collection or new gameplay interactions.
Building on a Strong 2026 Roadmap
Flashpoint is part of Embark’s broader 2026 content roadmap, which outlines four major updates between January and April.
Earlier updates include:
Headwinds (January)
Introduced:
- A controversial 1v3 matchmaking mode
- A new Player Project
- A new map condition for Buried City
Shrouded Sky (February)
Expanded the game significantly with:
- Two new ARC enemies
- A Hurricane map condition
- A new POI on Dam Battlegrounds
- Additional gameplay systems and cosmetics
Flashpoint now continues this trend, delivering another layer of evolving content.
Recent Update Nerfed IL Toro Shotgun
The announcement follows the March 17 patch (Update 1.20.0), which focused on bug fixes and balance changes.
The biggest highlight of that patch was a major nerf to the IL Toro shotgun, a weapon that had been dominating PvP combat.
IL Toro Nerf Summary
- Pellet Damage: 7.5 → 7
- Fire Rate: 43 → 38
- Dispersion: 4.5 → 6
- Reload Time: 4.3s → 5.7s
These changes were introduced to reduce the weapon’s close-range dominance, especially in high-traffic areas like Stella Montis.
What Comes After Flashpoint
While Flashpoint is set to deliver meaningful updates, many players are already looking ahead to April’s “Riven Tides” patch, which promises even bigger additions.
According to the roadmap, Riven Tides will include:
- A brand-new map
- A large ARC enemy, comparable to the Queen or Matriarch
- Another map condition
- The third Expedition departure, allowing players to reset progression
The Flashpoint update represents another key step in ARC Raiders’ live-service evolution, continuing Embark’s strategy of monthly content drops with meaningful gameplay changes.
With new threats, systems, and potential feature expansions, players can expect the battlefield to keep evolving as the game moves toward its larger April update.
