Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky Update 1.17.0 — Hurricanes, New Threats, And Sweeping Changes

The Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders arrived on February 24, 2026, introducing a storm of new content and fixes with the ARC Raiders Patch Notes 1.17.0. A violent Hurricane map condition now challenges players with low-visibility combat, powerful gales, and debris. The update also brings two new ARC enemy types to the Rust Belt, a seasonal player project called The Weather Monitoring System, a free Raider Deck, updates to the Dam Battlegrounds map, the opening of the Expedition Window, and new facial hair customization options for Raiders.

Developers addressed community feedback regarding weapon balance, specifically the disparity between low-tier and high-tier weapons and the feel of semi-automatic fire. I do think this will change the meta. As devs stated, the goal was to find a middle ground where spam-clicking is more responsive, but pacing shots rewards better results. The patch was announced a week before release, building anticipation for significant changes to the Stitcher, Kettle, Venator, Jupiter, and Aphelion weapons, aiming to rebalance their time-to-kill and usability. This includes adjustments to damage, headshot multipliers, and handling characteristics.

The patch also fixed an issue that many players treated as a moment of peace. The Rocketeers' fix, where the ARC would sometimes not shoot despite having a clear view of a target, has been addressed, and a player says, "I did have a thought that the problem with the rocketeers was their abundance of mercy." Another commented on how previous farming methods may now be obsolete:

"Before you could farm rocketeers by standing in a particular spot inside a reinforced reception. The rocketeer would hover outside the door and just… stare at you. Let's see if I can still do that."

The change makes the Rocketeer a more consistent and dangerous threat, which coincides with an increased crafting cost for the Wolfpack that requires a Rocketeer Driver, pushing players to engage with them more frequently.

Other quality-of-life changes and bug fixes round out the update. Players can now reroll Feats three times per day for free, and PvP Feats have been removed. An interactive piano has been added to the world for anyone needing a musical break. Fixes were implemented to prevent unfair visual advantages with NVIDIA Freestyle filters and to stop ziplines and other deployables from being placed on carryable objects or each other. Numerous issues related to animations, audio, achievements, and map collision were also resolved to create a smoother gameplay experience.

The title continues to grip its audience heading into 2026. I see the game’s success has been substantial since its launch late last year.
