PlayStation Has Decided to Shut Down Bluepoint Games Studio

Bluepoint Games has a great list of developed video games, as the studio was responsible for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, released in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Unfortunately, PlayStation has announced the studio has been shut down.

As reported by the new Bloomberg report, PlayStation closed Bluepoint Games studio, and the reason is mentioned as “following a business review.” The studio has reportedly featured around 80 employees, and you can check the words of PlayStation spokesperson below:

“Bluepoint Games is an incredibly talented team and their technical expertise has delivered exceptional experiences for the PlayStation community. We thank them for their passion, creativity and craftmanship.”

Sony acquired Bluepoint Games back in October 2021, and a lot of PlayStation fans are disappointed the company now closed the studio. It was previously reported Bluepoint Games has worked on a new IP and cancelled the live-service God of War title. It seems like we are not going to see any footage of the studio’s new game, as it is likely to be cancelled as well.
