Star Wars: Galactic Racer New Details Revealed

Announced at The Game Awards 2025, Star Wars: Galactic Racer is another video game based on the franchise, developed by Fuse Games, which consists of former Criterion Games (Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit). No wonder why Galactic Racer, as you can figure by the title, is the arcade racing game, and the gameplay was recently revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play show.

The game is currently set to release this year on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with no exact release date. Recently, the developers have spoken to IGN, where they revealed a bunch of new details for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Insider Shinobi602 has made a post on X social media with the most important features, specifically, gameplay features, and you can check the information below:

- Track based, not open world;

- Multiplayer + single player campaign mode (Galactic Racing League);

- Premium release at launch, no season pass model;

- Focus on learning and mastery of circuits, replayability;

- Boost System: Two phases where second phase is a ‘ramjet’ that goes very fast;

- Environments have tactical options that can aid you or hurt you;

- On Lantaana (volcanic island planet), there are rivers of water and lava. The heat can warm up your ramjet to operating temp, but much quicker, while rivers can cool it down;

- You can walk around the paddock and interact with other Star Wars characters in between races, build rivalries, upgrade your skimmers;

So far, Star Wars: Galactic Racer sounds like a really proper and detailed racing game that we haven’t seen for a while. Of course, the game will have a competition in genre with some big titles, like Forza Horizon 6 and Ride 6, but hopefully it will not disappoint neither Star Wars fans or just the players who enjoy arcade racings.
