Sony Delayed the Launch of PlayStation 6 to 2029
The increase of RAM prices reportedly was the reason why Microsoft and Sony are not planning to release the new consoles (Xbox and PlayStation, respectively) soon. It was initially reported by gaming insider Tom Henderson, and now Bloomberg’s new report provides more information, specifically on Sony’s next console. The gamers definitely need to wait a lot for the next PlayStation console release.
A new Bloomberg report confirms Sony is now looking to release the PlayStation 6 console in 2-3 years, as the source states “people familiar with the company’s thinking” have revealed that Sony Group has thought of “pushing back the debut of its next PlayStation console to 2028 or even 2029.” As was previously rumored, the reason is RAM prices increasing, and it was also a reason why Nintendo “carefully considered” Switch 2 prices, as revealed by the company’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, during the interview with Reuters.

That’s not the first time we've heard about PlayStation 6 release that it won’t happen any time soon. CFA senior analyst David Gibson recently revealed Sony has postponed the release of PlayStation 6, and they expect to focus on PlayStation 5 support for years.
