Marvel’s Venom Is Still in Development And Expected to Release Next Year
Although Insomniac Games is working hard on Marvel’s Wolverine, which will land this fall, the studio is also expanding their Marvel universe—with both Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and Marvel’s Venom rumored to be in development.
Speaking of the last, according to the new report from PlayStation insider TCMFGames, with a reference to MP1ST, the game is still in active development, and it was originally set to release in 2025 but was postponed to 2027. He also shared more details of Marvel’s Venom, and you can check them below:
“- Venom is still in active development per reports;
- Eddie Brock rumored to be the protagonist in the Venom game;
- Cletus Kasady (Carnage) will reappear as the main villain;
- Anti-Venom will also feature, using the Eddie Brock version from the comics;
- Venom was originally planned for release around 2025, later shifted to 2027 according to leaked schedules;”
So far, Insomniac Games hasn’t revealed any information about Marvel’s Venom; therefore, this report should be considered with a grain of salt. According to previous rumors, Marvel’s Venom will take place after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and will have a similar scale to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Recently, general manager of Marvel Games Haluk Mentes confirmed Insomniac Games will continue to create more games based on the Marvel Universe, so hopefully Marvel’s Venom will not be canceled after all.
The studio’s next project, Marvel’s Wolverine, will release this year on PlayStation 5. The release date is currently unknown.
