Embark Studios Fixes Bug That Wiped Arc Raiders Events, Increases Bird City Frequency

Embark Studios deployed an update to resolve an issue that recently caused all map events to disappear from the game. The developer also took the opportunity to adjust the schedule for the Bird City map event to address player complaints about its availability across different time zones. The Bird City event, introduced with the Headwinds update, modifies the Buried City map by increasing the presence of birds and adding high-value loot to rooftops, including rare rubber ducks.

Players had pointed out that the event's timing was inconvenient for many, particularly those in certain time zones with regular work schedules. One player, Jay-SA121, noted the difficulty for people in the GMT timezone.

"Bird City is a nonstarter for us in the GMT timezone with regular day jobs."

"I wish Embark would consider a dynamic schedule to give everyone across the globe a chance at all game modes."

Following a brief period where the events were unintentionally removed from the map schedule, the developer fixed the problem and simultaneously revised the rotation. The fix did not require a client download, only a game restart. In an announcement on the official Discord, Embark's community manager provided details on the solution.

"Last night, there was an issue with the map conditions schedule."

"We just pushed an update enabling this week's schedule while also increasing the frequency of Bird City. No download required, but please restart your game to update. We will keep revising and try to find a schedule for all conditions so that all time zones get a chance to play."

The Bird City modifier operates for one-hour intervals multiple times a day. During the event, all chimneys on the Buried City map contain lootable birds' nests. These nests offer a significantly higher chance of finding trinkets. The best areas to find these nests are locations with a high density of chimneys, such as Town Hall, Santa Maria Houses, Piazza Arbusto, and Plaza Rosa. Players can find seven unique rubber duck trinkets during the event, each with a different value. The Familiar Duck is the most valuable, selling for 7,000 coins, while the Flashy and Doodly ducks are worth 3,000 coins each. Other ducks, including the standard Rubber Duck and the Alien Duck, can be sold for 1,000 coins.
