After Weeks Of Silence, Highguard Confirms Launch Date With A New Showcase
I saw the announcement of Highguard at The Game Awards 2025, a new free-to-play PVP shooter from Wildlight Studios, which is composed of former Respawn developers. Highguard finally shows proof-of-life just days ahead of launch. After the initial reveal, the studio went silent for weeks. Now, a video has appeared on the official Highguard YouTube channel.
It's not public yet, but the title is "Highguard | Official Launch Showcase," and it is scheduled to go live on Monday at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET. The thumbnail confirms the game is still set to launch on January 26th.
The video's description promises "a full gameplay deep dive, year one plans, and much more." This is a lot of new information, considering all we have seen so far is a short trailer. It seems the game has not been delayed. I will be able to see what the former developers of Titanfall and Apex Legends have been working on when Highguard launches. Then I can tune in to see what is planned for the game's future.
Read also, Highguard became an unexpected focal point of The Game Awards 2025. It was revealed as the final world premiere of a show that many viewers found disappointing. The absence of long-anticipated projects like *The Elder Scrolls 6* or *Half-Life 3* left expectations misaligned. Highguard absorbed much of the resulting frustration.
