Rockstar Gave Early Access of GTA VI to the Gamer with Cancer
Less than 10 months later, Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and the fans cannot wait to play the next installment of Rockstar Games.
However, one particular gamer has already been able to play Grand Theft Auto VI, but that might be a really touchable and sad story. Last month, a Ubisoft Toronto developer, Anthony Armstrong, shared that a member of his family, who is a huge GTA fan, has been battling cancer, and he has approximately 6-12 months to live. Armstrong responded to Rockstar Games to see if they could provide the access to play Grand Theft Auto VI almost a year before the official release.

"To any of my connections at Rockstar Games and Rockstar Toronto, or anyone else that may be able to help. A member of my family woh has been battling cancer for years just recently got the worst possible news, he was given 6 – 12 months to live.
The reason I’m reaching out is that they are a huge GTA fan and, with this latest update, he may not be around long enough to actually get to see GTA 6 launch, best case scenario he will be leaving us the same month it does. He currently lives only a stones throw from the Oakville studio, so its my hope that one of you may be able to set up an exclusive playtest, so he can have a chance to experience the game, before passing.
I absolutely understand the need for secrecy at this point of development, so at the very least an NDA is probably needed."
After almost a month of expectations, Anthony Armstrong has updated his post with some positive words. He reveals that he had conversations with Rockstar Games, and he has some “great news” after the CEO of Take-Two has reached out. Though he didn’t mention it directly, his family member was given early access to GTA VI, there is a strong hint in Armstrong’s recent statements.
“The CEO of Take-Two reached out and we are just waiting to hear from the Rockstar team to discuss this further. Thank you to everyone who has shown support, reshared, and reached out to your contacts for us.
We spoke to them today and got great news. That’s all I can really say, but thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
Considering that Rockstar Games is being cautious with revealing the details of Grand Theft Auto VI, this decision surely gives them respect and confirms there is a playable version of GTA VI.
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is currently eyed for November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
