Jennifer Hale Wants to Play Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 5
Mass Effect 5 is confirmed to be in development at BioWare, though the game details are mostly unknown, as well as whether Commander Shepard from the iconic Mass Effect trilogy will be involved.
Nevertheless, actress Jennifer Hale, who voiced the female version of Shepard, in the interview with Polygon revealed she’d love to play the character once more in the upcoming Mass Effect 5 or even play a completely different role.
“I sure would love to. I would love to continue Shepard's story if it was what served the universe the best. If not, maybe a distant relative of Shepard, or some entirely different species”
Mass Effect 5 was announced back in 2020. Project director Mike Gamble previously reported the game was in the pre-production stage of development earlier in 2025; however, there are no further details at the moment, and the game doesn’t have a release date yet.
