Hideo Kojima Wants to See a Video Game Based on the Predator: Badlands Movie
Predator: Badlands, directed by Dan Trachtenberg and released last November, has expanded the franchise in an unusual way when we saw an alliance between a Yautja called Dek and Thia, an android from Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
Over the last few years, the Predator franchise has received a bunch of various installments, including the movie Prey, set in the Northern Great Plains in 1719, and the animated anthology film Predator: Killer of Killers, which showed three different stories related to each other.
Speaking of Predator video games, there are not really many; the latest title, Predator: Hunting Grounds, was released back in 2020. The concept of multiplayer, where one player controls the Predator while 4 other gamers team up to terminate the enemy, was promising, but unfortunately, the game didn’t find its audience and received mixed reviews. The fans would definitely like to see a proper single-player Predator video game, and even Hideo Kojima revealed he has the same thoughts after watching Predator: Badlands. During the interview with WIRED, he replied:
“I recently saw Predator: Badlands. That felt quite game-like. Travelling with Elle Fanning on your back. I also recently watched Last Samurai Standing. The plot has game-like qualities. I might not make it, but it seems cool.”
