Judgement Hammer Falls On Arc Raiders Cheaters, But Is It Heavy Enough?

The day of reckoning has arrived for some cheaters in Arc Riders. After Embark promised to address the issue last week, the developer has begun handing out 30-day bans. The "significant changes" to the detection and ban systems are now live.

A Reddit post from a player named Subsplot announced the news, sharing an image of a temporary suspension notice that has been circulating. The message informs the user that their account has been suspended for behavior that violates the code of conduct, with access to be restored in February 2026, a month from now.

"Dear cheaters, the reckoning has begun," Subsplot says in the post. "Have fun trying to make up that expedition progress."

This is a welcome development for players who have been impacted by cheaters, even with Embark’s policy of returning loot to those who had it stolen. However, not everyone in the community believes a 30-day ban is sufficient. The question of why the bans are not permanent has been raised. I think permanent bans are likely reserved for repeat offenders, and Embark may be considering the severity of the cheating. Messing with game files to get a different camera perspective is a different class of offense than using an aimbot. Still, some players have suggested more creative and severe punishments.

One of the more interesting ideas came from a player who suggested: "Anyone with cheats active just gets non-stop arc spawning on them."

Other ideas floated by the community include making cheaters clip through the floor, encumbering them with a 10% slower walking speed, filling the map with infinitely respawning fireballs, or forcing them to fight each other in a gladiatorial arena.

I would like to see cheaters condemned to only spawning into matches late and finding nothing but plastic parts. The main thing is that Embark is finally taking action. Hopefully, its detection systems will continue to improve, and the punishments will escalate for those who repeatedly violate the rules. No one enjoys losing to a cheater.

Read also, Arc Raiders' First-Person Mode appeared in the wild through an exploit that briefly let players experience the game from a completely different perspective. I saw footage and reactions spread quickly once the command-based trick surfaced. Arc Raiders is built as a third-person-only experience, and that design choice shapes combat, awareness, and pacing. Switching to first-person did not just change the view. It altered how the game felt moment to moment, and not always in fair ways.
