Persona's 30th Anniversary Kicks Off With Atlus Website And January Plans
Persona's 30th anniversary officially started this week with Atlus launching a dedicated official website for the milestone year. The page went live ahead of the series’ 30th birthday and serves as the first public step in what is expected to be a longer promotional campaign through 2026. At the time of launch, the site offers limited information but sets the framework for future announcements tied to the franchise.
The site features newly commissioned artwork from long-time Persona character designer Shigenori Soejima. The illustration includes portraits of protagonists from across the series, notably acknowledging characters from Persona 1 and Persona 2, entries that have received far less attention in recent years. The artwork appears to be the primary draw of the site in its current form, with no detailed roadmap or breakdown of upcoming projects yet disclosed.
The first confirmed project associated with the anniversary is Fitness Boxing Persona 5. The title blends the existing Fitness Boxing formula with Persona 5 characters and presentation. It is developed by Imagineer, the Japanese studio behind the Fitness Boxing series, which has remained exclusive to Nintendo Switch across its recent releases. No platform announcement has been made, but the series’ history suggests the Persona crossover will follow the same pattern.
While Fitness Boxing Persona 5 marks the only concrete reveal so far, the website also confirms that a new announcement is scheduled for January 8. Atlus has not specified the nature of that update. Possibilities range from merchandise and live event information to game-related news tied more directly to the core series. No titles have been named, and expectations remain cautious given the lack of detail.
Speculation around Persona’s future projects continues alongside the anniversary launch. A remake or reworking of Persona 4 has been rumored in recent years, and a new mainline entry, commonly referred to as Persona 6, remains unannounced. Neither has been confirmed as part of the anniversary plans. Another possibility is a console release of Persona 5: The Phantom X, a gacha-based title currently available on mobile platforms in select regions. Atlus has not commented on that prospect in connection with the anniversary.
Persona’s anniversary arrives during a crowded year for long-running Japanese franchises. Several major series will mark significant milestones in 2026, placing added attention on how publishers choose to celebrate their legacies. For now, Atlus has opted for a restrained opening, signaling future activity without committing to major reveals upfront.
More information is expected following the January 8 update. Until then, Persona's 30th anniversary campaign remains defined by its newly launched website, its commemorative artwork, and a single crossover release that sets a cautious tone for what may follow later in the year.
