Silent Hill f Producer Teases New Franchise Games Similar to This Year’s Title
Silent Hill f, released this year and developed by NeoBards Entertainment, doesn’t feel like a typical game of the franchise. Mostly because it’s a spinoff inspired by a Japanese setting, but it’s still a Silent Hill game, though it has a really unusual combat system in terms of the franchise.
Recently, the game’s producer, Motoi Okamoto, spoke to Inverse, where he hinted future Silent Hill games may use the way Silent Hill f did—moving the game series to a place it’s never been. You can check some of his words from the interview below:
“We believe we could perhaps take similar approaches with other cultures across the globe. "For example, in Central or South America, we could perhaps tap into the more local, shamanistic beliefs and see how that ties in. But we could also try to expand our horizons and look into other regions, like possibly Italy or South Korea, because all those areas have their own unique types of belief systems. I believe that will be a gateway for us to expand our concepts further.”
However, he also added it may be difficult for Konami to negotiate with a development studio in Central or South America to create a new Silent Hill game because the “region doesn’t have many to choose from,” though he didn’t rule it out.
