Sony Is Working on a New Open-World RPG Video Game

Next year, Sony is planning to release new exclusive video games for PlayStation 5. And if Saros, developed by Housemarque, who is famous for Returnal video game, isn’t really well-known by the players so far, Marvel’s Wolverine, set in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac Games, is surely one of the most anticipated titles in 2026.

It seems like Sony is also working on a new unannounced game that is described as a third-person action RPG in an open world. What’s important the studio responsible for making this video game is PlayStation’s San Diego Studio, which previously worked on the MLB The Show franchise and has no experience in making RPG video games.

According to the vacancy description, San Diego Studio is looking for employees who previously worked with third-person combat systems, open world with RPG elements, and a focus on hardcore gameplay.

Sony is yet to confirm its new game developed by San Diego Studio.
