Cyberpunk 2077 Developers Confirmed Famous Fan Theory

One of the best sides of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Project RED’s latest instalment, is surely the Night City – beautiful and immense open-world full of mysteries, diversified and impressive at the same time. The players believed the city is actually the main villain of Cyberpunk 2077, in a way how it changes the main character V – some of them are discussed it very carefully on Reddit. It seems like they were right after all.

Recently, the game’s lead writer Tomasz Marchewka spoke with GamesRadar+, where he revealed that even during the pre-production it was clear – Night City will be the actual antagonist of Cyberpunk 2077. You can check some words from his interview below:

“Very early on, even during Cyberpunk 2077’s pre-production, we realized Night City would serve as the central antagonist. Some players noticed that fairly quickly and later asked us about it. Naturally, there are mega-corporations like Arasaka, characters such as Adam Smasher, and many others, but in essence it’s Night City against everyone else — even the biggest players in the narrative. Turning the city itself into the main antagonist is a brilliant concept.”

As for now, CD Project RED are actively working on a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. According to latest report, the game is currently “in the middle of development” but it won’t release soon, probably, somewhere in 2030 or 2031 as CD Project RED’s priority remains The Witcher 4, set to release eariler.
