New Resident Evil Remakes Are Reportedly In Development
As was confirmed at The Game Awards 2025 ceremony, Leon S. Kennedy will be officially back in Resident Evil Requiem, and the fans are absolutely loving it. The game is set to release in February 26 but Capcom are already planning new Resident Evil games to release, sort of.
According to gaming insider AetheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, Capcom are working on two Resident Evil remakes – upgraded versions of Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil Zero. He clarifies Code Veronica remake will be announces next year and released in 2027 while Zero Remake will release in 2028.
“What I've heard is Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake should be announced next year, and release in 2027, then Zero Remake releasing the following year in 2028. I'll keep you posted if I hear differently.
For now though, Requiem hype time! Resident Evil Requiem is 2 & a half months away!”
For those, who never heard of those two titles, Resident Evil: Code Veronica features Clair and Chris Redfields and takes place after the events of Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil Zero, in turn, is a prequel to the very first Resident Evil video game. It’s interesting the game have received an HD-version in 2016 called Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster but Capcom seemingly decided to make a brand-new version with a remake.
