New Alien Video Game Reportedly In Development
During the last few years, we’ve seen a plenty of different video game set in Alien universe, like Alien: Fireteam Elite, Alien: Dark Descent and Alien: Rogue Incursion. The fans must have been happy with that, as they saw diverse views on battles between humans and Xenomorphs. Let’s not forget a new movie, Alien: Romulus, and new TV series, Alien: Earth, were released recently, so it’s definitely a great time for all the fans of the franchise.
And it can be only better. According to Insider Gaming, new Alien video game is reportedly back in development. It’s expected to be a single-player arcade survival horror, where the players need to survive on a space station. The game is currently described as "Shadow of Tomb Raider with xenomorphs".
The source is adding the game was in development since 2020 and had a codename Marathon, and there are some reports the development could have been abandoned. However, the game is back at development by Eidos-Montreal studio.
Speaking of gameplay, source is claiming the game will have a combat system, platforming, puzzles, and the players will need to use stealth mechanic while puzzles are made to repair machinery to cracking codes. At this point, it is mentioned there are 3 characters in the game, named Aubrie, Ryuzo and Ripley 8. It’s not confirmed does Ripley 8 has any connection to Ellen Ripley from Alien movies.
New Alien video game is having a budget near $75 million and expected to release in 2028. Considering it’s not confirmed information, it should be considered with a grain of salt.
