Home Alone Characters May Be Coming to Fortnite

Fortnite has no shortage of iconic Christmas movies to draw inspiration from when it comes to seasonal collaborations, and this year, the game may be preparing one of its most exciting holiday crossovers yet. According to recent rumors, the next Fortnite collaboration could bring characters from the beloved Home Alone franchise into the battle royale — though perhaps not the characters many fans are hoping for.

Fortnite already features a wide variety of holiday-themed cosmetics, including skins such as Red-Nosed Raider, Crackabella, Sgt. Winter, Polar Peely, Winterfest Bushranger, and many more. In recent years, Epic Games has also expanded its seasonal offerings through major holiday collaborations, most notably adding Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas in 2023.

Now, another festive crossover may be on the horizon. According to reliable leaker @blortzen, the infamous Wet Bandits from Home Alone could be coming to Fortnite in the near future. While the leaker advises fans to treat the information with caution, they have also stated that they trust the source of the rumor, lending it additional credibility.

Given that The Nightmare Before Christmas spans both Halloween and Christmas, it’s also possible that Jack Skellington could return to the Fortnite Item Shop during the holiday season, though this remains purely speculative.

Fans of Home Alone will instantly recognize Harry and Marv as some of the most memorable characters in the film, second only to Kevin McCallister in popularity. It is currently unclear whether the Fortnite versions of the Wet Bandits would resemble actors Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, but their slapstick misfortune fits perfectly with Fortnite’s over-the-top action. The duo could also work well as NPCs, offering quests centered around surviving traps or recovering from damage. Even the McCallister house could serve as a themed point of interest, though for now, only character skins are rumored.

The Kevin McCallister Question

Naturally, the biggest question surrounding this rumored crossover is whether Kevin McCallister himself will be added to Fortnite. Unfortunately for fans, Kevin was not mentioned in the leak, suggesting that only the villains of Home Alone are planned for the collaboration.

While disappointing, this decision makes sense from a gameplay perspective. Although Fortnite features characters of varying sizes, Epic Games carefully avoids drastic differences that could affect hitboxes. This is why certain characters, such as Peter Griffin, were redesigned to better fit the game’s proportions. Since Kevin is under ten years old in the films, accurately adapting him into a playable Fortnite skin would be extremely difficult without resorting to unrealistic design changes.

While Epic Games has used creative solutions in the past — such as placing Morty inside a mech — Kevin McCallister doesn’t come from a sci-fi universe where such technology would feel appropriate. Realistically, there is no clean way to adapt a young child into Fortnite’s gameplay without breaking immersion or balance.

Even so, fans hoping for some Kevin representation might still see references through cosmetic items, such as a Talkboy recorder back bling. For now, however, it appears that the Wet Bandits would be the main focus of Fortnite’s potential Home Alone crossover.
