Bigfoot Sightings Reported in Fortnite — And This Time It’s Not a Hoax

The decades-long mystery surrounding Bigfoot may have finally been cracked — because according to Fortnite players, the elusive creature has been roaming the island since the v39.10 update on December 11. And unlike real-world sightings, this one isn’t blurry, fake, or “my cousin swears he saw it.” Bigfoot is actually in Fortnite — just… not how you’d expect. 😅

Fortnite has welcomed an endless parade of pop-culture icons over the years — Darth Vader, Ariana Grande, The Witcher, you name it. But the arrival of a tiny wandering sasquatch might be one of the strangest additions Epic Games has ever dropped.

For decades, Bigfoot — or sasquatch — has been considered a mythical forest creature, with debates fueled by the iconic 1967 Patterson–Gimlin footage. While real-life sightings remain questionable at best, Fortnite’s version is very real, very small, and very easy to miss.

Since the latest patch went live, players have been spotting the creature strolling across the island. And the weirdest twist? Despite his legendary name, he arrives in fun-size form, making him even harder to catch a glimpse of. 👀

Where to Find Bigfoot in Fortnite 🗺️

At the moment, there is no fixed spawn location. His appearances are:

  • Completely random
  • Unpredictable in route
  • Impossible to kill, as he’s totally invulnerable
  • Extremely sensitive to proximity, disappearing if you get within 35 meters

This isn’t technically Bigfoot’s first appearance in Fortnite — Epic added a Bigfoot skin back in 2019 — but this is the first time he has appeared as an in-game NPC, silently wandering the island with seemingly no purpose.

At least for now.

Is Bigfoot Just an Easter Egg… or Something Bigger? 🔍

Epic Games hasn’t commented on his arrival, leaving players wondering whether this is:

  • A fun Winterfest-themed Easter egg, or
  • A subtle hint at a future storyline event

This wouldn’t be the first time Epic teased narrative content through a mysterious NPC. The Wanderer appeared at the end of Chapter 5 Season 3, walking the map in a similar fashion. Weeks later, he was revealed to be a precursor to Doctor Doom, who became the villain of the next season.

Given that pattern, players are already speculating that the mini-sasquatch might be foreshadowing something tied to Chapter 7 Season 2 or even Winterfest 2025.

For now, Bigfoot remains an unexplained — and hilarious — mystery. But in Fortnite, unexplained things rarely stay unexplained for long. 👣✨
