Ghost of Yotei Fans and Actress Are Divided Over The Game's Position at Game Awards 2025

The Game Awards 2025 nominees have been confirmed and it's not a big surprise not everybody really happy with the results of nominees. For instance, some players thinks that Split Fiction should have been in "Game of the Year" category considering It Takes Two, the game from the same developers, have won "Game of the Year" category in 2021. But it's not the only one big game is missed in the main category according to the players.

It's about Ghost of Yotei - latest PlayStation 5 exclusive and the sequel of Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch Productions did a really great job: gamers enjoyed the gameplay, huge open-world full a beauty and appropriate soundtrack. Most of PlayStation 5 users prefer Ghost of Yotei over Death Stranding 2: On The Beach that actually made the list of "GOTY" category at The Game Awards 2025 that left some fans disappointed.

And while the fans are keep saying about snubbing the game, actress Erika Ishii, who played Atsu in Ghost of Yotei, doesn't think the game deserves "Game of the Year" award. Instead, she surprisingly revealed Blue Prince as her "Game of the Year". During the interview with GamesRadar she replied:

"Blue Prince, Game of the Year, baby - hands down. All the other games, I'm so sorry, but it's Blue Prince all day, every day. 300 days in, and I'm still discovering secrets"

Blue Prince is the adventure puzzle videogame made by Dogubomb studio. The game is actually also presented at The Game Awards 2025 in two categories - Best Independent Game and Best Independent Debut Game. It will be interesting to see whether the game can win in some category to make Erika Ishii happier.
