Mafia: The Old Country is Totally Ignored at The Game Awards 2025
The Game Awards 2025 nominees were officially confirmed a couple of days ago. And while most of the players continue to vote for their favorite project on The Game Awards website, some players discovered that one particular videogame are totally missed from the nominees in any category.
We are talking about Mafia: The Old Country – a prequel to Mafia: The City of the Lost Heaven set on Sicily in 1900s. The game wasn’t perfect but fans and critics really enjoyed the story, characters, the atmosphere of Sicily and the beauty of open world. Moreover, Take-Two Interactive, parent company of the game’s publisher 2K, didn’t expect the game will have such an exciting financial success; it’s also likely that new games could be in development soon.

Despite being a successful game among players and critics, Mafia: The Old Country hasn’t been nominating at any nomination at The Game Awards 2025. Some X users have discovered this and decided to share their comments. Some of them you can see below:
As you can see by tweets above, a lot of players are unhappy that Mafia: The Old Country hasn't received any place at The Game Awards 2025 categories. Some of them really were impressed by the story and actor's performances - especially Johnny Santiago who voiced antagonist Don Bernardo Torrisi.
