Fortnite’s Blitz Royale Mode Is Getting a Stranger Things Crossover
Epic Games has officially announced that Fortnite will soon feature a crossover with Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things — this time within the fan-favorite Blitz Royale mode. Originally launched on June 18, 2025, Blitz Royale started as a limited-time event but quickly became so popular that Epic Games decided to make it a permanent game mode. The mode stands out from the traditional Battle Royale formula, pitting 32 players against each other on a smaller map in five-minute matches, offering fast-paced and intense gameplay.
🎬 Stranger Things Invades Blitz Royale
In a post shared on X (Twitter), Epic Games revealed the upcoming collaboration, confirming that the world of Stranger Things will soon collide with Fortnite’s Blitz Royale mode. While the teaser video didn’t reveal many details, reliable Fortnite insider ShiinaBR claimed that the crossover is set to launch on November 24.
Though the date hasn’t been officially confirmed by Epic, it’s notably just two days before Season 5 begins on November 26, fueling speculation that the crossover could tie into the season’s launch event. Adding to the intrigue, dataminers recently uncovered a LEGO-related asset in Fortnite’s files referencing Dustin — one of the show’s most beloved characters — hinting that he may soon join the Fortnite roster.
🧟♂️ Not the First Stranger Things x Fortnite Crossover
This won’t be Fortnite’s first trip to Hawkins, Indiana. The game previously featured skins for Eleven, Hopper, and the Demogorgon, marking one of Fortnite’s most memorable TV show collaborations. With Blitz Royale now serving as a fresh platform for special events, Epic Games has used it to host crossovers with Marvel, The Walking Dead, and other pop culture giants — and Stranger Things looks to be the next big name joining the mix.
Fortnite’s New “Sidekicks” Stir Buzz and Controversy
Alongside the crossover announcement, Epic Games also introduced a new cosmetic type called Sidekicks — small pet companions that can emote, interact with the world, and follow players during matches. These companions are only visible to the player and their squad, ensuring they don’t reveal anyone’s position during combat.
However, the excitement around Sidekicks quickly turned controversial. Epic confirmed that customization options are locked upon purchase, meaning players who want multiple color variants or accessories will have to buy the same Sidekick more than once. Despite the backlash, many fans remain enthusiastic about the new addition and are eager to see how these animated companions will tie into future collaborations.
Fans Anticipate Hawkins’ Arrival
With Stranger Things making its long-awaited return to Fortnite — and Blitz Royale offering a high-energy battlefield — players are buzzing with anticipation. Whether Dustin, Eleven, or the Demogorgon show up next, this crossover promises to blend Fortnite’s chaotic fun with the supernatural thrills of Stranger Things, just in time for a chilling start to Season 5.
