The remake will feature 4K graphics, completely reworked animations and controls, as well as remastered music and re-recorded voice acting. Players will still be able to enjoy local split-screen co-op for two players on consoles, while online co-op will support up to four players with full cross-play and cross-progression between PC and consoles.

Among the most notable additions are three brand-new prequel missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson, as well as nine iconic weapons from other Halo titles, including the Needler rifle and Energy Sword. Players will also be able to sprint, hijack vehicles, and pilot Ghosts, while the new “Skulls” system will add customizable gameplay modifiers and difficulty tweaks.

According to executive producer Damon Conn, Halo: Campaign Evolved is designed to serve as “the perfect entry point” for newcomers to the series. Notably, the remake marks the first-ever appearance of Halo on PlayStation, expanding the franchise to a new generation of players.

“We’re incredibly excited to introduce Halo to those who never had the chance to play it before. At its core, Halo has always been a game about connection. We can’t wait to meet a new generation of players on their favorite platforms and let them experience Halo in a way they never have before. We’re not rewriting Halo’s legacy — we’re inviting players to truly live it,” said Conn.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and will be available day one on Game Pass.
