🐼 Earn the Balloon in the Pandaren Heritage Questline

The Festival Hot Air Balloon is unlocked through the Pandaren Heritage questline, a new storyline that takes players back to the Wandering Isle to save the Spirit Festival alongside Chen and Li Li Stormstout. Completing the quest rewards players with the colorful balloon, offering a scenic and social new way to travel across Azeroth.

While piloting the balloon, players will notice that their hotbars are replaced with vehicle controls—allowing them to ascend, descend, glide forward, or pause. The best part? Up to three other players can hop aboard, making it perfect for relaxed exploration or community screenshots.

⚙️ No Limits, No Cooldown

Early PTR testing reveals that the Festival Hot Air Balloon currently has no cooldown or duration limits, allowing players to use it freely and indefinitely. Though it requires a Pandaren to unlock, any race—including the upcoming Haranir in WoW: Midnight—can use it once earned.

This unique design opens the door for future multi-seat mount toys, expanding travel options beyond traditional flying systems like Skyriding. While it’s not the fastest way to get around, the balloon offers a relaxing, picturesque experience unlike any other mount in the game.

🌅 A Celebration of Exploration

Between Player Housing early access, the return of the Brawler’s Guild, and the epilogue bridging The War Within and Midnight, Patch 11.2.7 is shaping up to be one of the year’s most content-rich updates.

Fans eager to float above Azeroth can prepare now by leveling a Pandaren character to 50 or higher—ensuring they’re ready to begin the Heritage Armor questline and earn the Festival Hot Air Balloon on day one.
