Battlefield 6 New Update - Player Progression and Portal Servers

The release of Battlefield 6 has been a success — the game received excellent reviews and currently maintains an online player count of several hundred thousand. However, the developers decided not to stop there and announced a new game update focused on the progression system and community experiences.

Many players have shared their thoughts that unlocking key elements such as gadgets, weapon attachments, or other hardware takes quite a lot of time, which slows down overall progression. Therefore, the developers are planning a series of changes, and here’s what will be adjusted in the next update:

  • XP earned for completing matches will be increased by 10%, and the daily bonus — by 40%.
  • The amount of XP required to unlock the first 20 attachment tiers will be reduced, allowing players to gain useful upgrades almost twice as fast.
  • Some assignments that previously required career ranks 20, 23, and 26 will now unlock at ranks 10, 15, and 20.

Please note: if you are already progressing with a specific weapon, the UI may initially display incorrect information — it will update after the next match played with that weapon. In addition, the current challenges will also be adjusted, but this will take additional time for development and testing.

Battlefield 6 New Update - Player Progression and Portal Servers 1

During the past week, many players noticed that community servers quickly reached maximum capacity. After analysis, it was discovered that a significant number of these servers were primarily used for XP farming — focusing on defeating bots to quickly gain stats, achievements, and accolades, rather than engaging in real gameplay.

We understand the motivation — the desire to progress faster or to test setups without pressure — but this trend has led to unwanted consequences. Because of the large number of servers focused on XP farming, it has become harder for players to find active matches to play with others.

Technical adjustments will also affect the Community Experiences section. Battlefield Studios will implement backend updates aimed at reducing the number of XP-farming servers while promoting genuine community experiences. After the update is released, all custom and verified experiences will need to be republished before they can once again host active servers
