Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Finally Available on Steam

Ubisoft has released Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow on Steam, more than two decades after its original launch. The game, one of Sam Fisher's early adventures, was previously only accessible on Windows 7, but the new Steam version supports Windows 10 and 11.

Pandora Tomorrow’s story connects to Netflix’s animated series, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The game introduces Douglas Shetland, a close friend of Sam Fisher, whose death continues to influence the series through his daughter, Diana Shetland, one of the primary antagonists.

The Steam release coincides with a promotional offer. The Splinter Cell Legacy Collection, including the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, Double Agent, Conviction, and Blacklist, is available for $19. This provides players access to nearly the full series on modern PCs.

John Wick co-creator and Deathwatch showrunner Derek Kolstad commented on adapting the franchise for animation. He said, "rip the spine out of the source material," and "keep the brain and the heart, entertain the soul, and do your best to actually build it into something that works" — highlighting the care taken to integrate key story elements from the games.

While no new mainline Splinter Cell game has been confirmed, a remake of the original game is in development. In the meantime, Ubisoft added Steam achievements to Splinter Cell: Blacklist earlier this year, keeping the series active on PC platforms.
