On Metacritic and OpenCritic, the game currently holds an average score of 84 out of 100. Critics were most impressed by the multiplayer mode, which features dynamic gameplay, realistic environmental destruction, a variety of maps and modes, and high-quality graphics. At the same time, the single-player campaign became the main source of criticism — even before release, it was met with cautious expectations, and full reviews confirmed this sentiment: the story turned out to be rather mediocre.

The single-player events of Battlefield 6 revolve around Dagger 13, an elite combat unit that opposes a private military company called Pax Armata, which seeks to change the global balance of power amid a NATO crisis. In addition to the story mode, Battlefield 6 offers a multiplayer experience with nine maps and a Portal mode — a tool that allows players to create their own modes, modify locations, and experiment with gameplay mechanics.

Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the first season of new content set to begin on October 28.

Critics’ Scores for Battlefield 6

  • PC Games — 9/10
  • Impulsegamer — 9/10
  • GamesRadar+ — 8/10
  • TheGamer — 8/10
  • Eurogamer — 8/10
  • TrueGaming — 7.5/10

Critics emphasize that Battlefield 6 turned out to be a high-quality project where innovation gives way to stability and refinement of proven mechanics. Despite the absence of radical new features, the game shines thanks to the harmonious combination of all its elements — even if the single-player mode might feel somewhat predictable.
