Battlefield 2042 Players to Receive Double and Triple XP Ahead of Battlefield 6

Players of Battlefield 2042 have long expressed frustration over the slow progression in the free Battle Pass, which unlocks exclusive items for the upcoming Battlefield 6. Developers have listened to the community and are making it easier to earn rewards: until October 7, special events will run every week with double XP, and during the last two weekends, players will even earn triple XP.

We released Battlefield 2042’s Update 9.2.0 on August 18 and the Road to Battlefield 6 began with all of you jumping back into the game. Your passion has been incredible to see and we’re so excited to have so many of you back with us in Battlefield 2042. We’ve seen the praise you’re giving the game now and we just wanted to say thank you for the appreciation of the work the team has put in. It means a lot to all of us!

We also wanted to highlight the item unlocks for Battlefield 6’s launch, as we’ve seen some discussions around what they are and at what tier of the Free Battlepass they would unlock at.

On August 18, Battlefield 2042 received Update 9.2.0, marking the start of the journey toward Battlefield 6. The response from the community has been incredible, with many players returning to the game. In addition, the team provided clarity on the rewards available in the free Battle Pass leading up to Battlefield 6. Many players had questions about what items could be unlocked and at which levels. The developers assured fans that all this information is being carefully tracked to ensure players can plan their progression effectively.

To address concerns about missing past or upcoming XP weekends, the developers confirmed that every weekend until the end of the free Battle Pass on October 7 will feature double XP events. The final two weekends will offer triple XP, giving players extra opportunities to collect rare cards, skins, and other cosmetic rewards linked to various eras of the franchise. “Mark your calendars!” the team urged on X.

The bonus XP and rewards can be earned across all platforms supporting Battlefield 2042: PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox, and PlayStation. The more active players are now, the more substantial their collection of bonuses will be when Battlefield 6 launches.

Developers also stated that they will continue monitoring community discussions and internal data to make further adjustments if necessary, ensuring everyone has a fair chance to unlock the full set of Battle Pass rewards.
