Ubisoft Halts Development on Star Wars Outlaws Sequel

Ubisoft has reportedly shelved early plans for a sequel to Star Wars Outlaws, according to industry insider Tom Henderson, who shared the information during a livestream on Insider Gaming.

The decision comes in the wake of the game’s underwhelming commercial performance. Despite high expectations, Ubisoft previously admitted that the launch sales of Star Wars Outlaws failed to meet internal targets — a key factor influencing the publisher’s move to abandon the sequel during its early development phase.

In the months following release, Ubisoft launched two narrative expansions: Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune. Alongside these DLCs, the studio delivered several significant gameplay improvements, including updates to gunplay mechanics and stealth systems, in an effort to improve the overall experience.
