Clash Royale Overhauls Gem Rewards in June 2025 Update — Focus Shifts to Gameplay Progression

In its upcoming June 2025 update, Clash Royale is revamping how players earn Gems, moving away from heavy Mastery grinds and putting more emphasis on progression-based rewards tied to core gameplay.

Gem Rewards Shift from Mastery to Trophy Road

As part of the overhaul, Gem payouts from Card Mastery will be reduced. After the update:

• Regular Cards will grant 100 Gems (down from 150)
• Champion Cards will also drop to 100 Gems (from 300)

To offset the decrease, 2,525 Gems will be redistributed to the Trophy Road, encouraging players to earn Gems through consistent gameplay and ranking progress rather than long-term grind objectives.

More Accessible, Progress-Driven Rewards

Although this update will technically reduce the total number of Gems available, the goal is to make rewards feel more immediate and achievement-based. Rather than chasing Mastery milestones, players can now earn meaningful Gem rewards simply by playing and advancing.

Players still hoping to claim current Mastery Gem rewards have a limited window to do so—once the update goes live in late June, the new Gem values will apply only to future progress. Any previous Mastery or Trophy Road milestones will not retroactively grant Gems under the new system.

When Is the Update Coming?

The changes are expected to roll out by the end of June 2025, giving players just enough time to wrap up their remaining Mastery goals before the system resets.
