A New Story Chapter Looms After 3.3’s Cliffhanger

Following the dramatic ending of the 3.3 Trailblaze Mission, fans are eager to see what’s in store. Version 3.4 promises major updates, including a special livestream that will spotlight three new characters: Phainon, Saber, and Archer. Among them, Phainon is especially anticipated as a major figure among the Chrysos Heirs. However, HoYoverse has made it clear: he won’t be the last.

Now, with the announcement of Hysilens, the hype for 3.5 is already building.

Meet Hysilens: Ocean’s Coreflame & Knight Commander of Okhema

In a recent post on social media, Honkai: Star Rail confirmed that Hysilens will be joining the playable roster in Version 3.5. Based on her drip marketing, she is a 5-Star Physical character who follows the Path of Nihility—a path known for debuffing enemies and dealing strategic damage.

Character Highlights:

  • Path: Nihility
  • Element: Physical
  • Rarity: 5-Star
  • Appearance: Long dark hair, flowing purple dress, and a conch-inspired hair ornament, evoking an oceanic theme.
  • Title: Knight Commander of Okhema
  • Alias: Helektra, the demigod of the Ocean

Hysilens bears the Ocean’s Coreflame, marking her as a powerful Chrysos Heir. Though her exact abilities remain under wraps, she’s only the second Physical Nihility character in the game—the first being the 4-Star Luka.

Hysilens’ Lore: From Demigod to Legend

Lore-rich and deeply intertwined with the world of Honkai: Star Rail, Hysilens has been mentioned by several characters in-game, including Aglaea, Cipher, Tribbie, and Castorice. She also appeared briefly in two promotional trailers.

According to the lore, Hysilens (Helektra) once passed the Trial of the Titan Phagousa, earning the Ocean’s Coreflame and rising to demigod status. She was a fierce ally of Cerydra, helping her fend off enemies threatening Okhema. Their victory ended the Chrysos War and led to the beginning of the Flame-Chase Journey.

However, tragedy followed: Hysilens died sometime before the main events of the game, while Cerydra was later defeated and vanished from public life. It’s also said that Hysilens was extremely talented in music, adding another layer to her mysterious legacy.

Will Hysilens Return From the Dead?

Honkai: Star Rail has a history of reviving characters. Fans still remember Tingyun’s transformation into Fugue, and now speculation swirls around how Hysilens will make her entrance. Is she truly back—or is there more to her return?

Interestingly, the most recent Nihility unit, Cipher, has quickly become a go-to support character for follow-up attack teams. If Hysilens follows a similar trajectory, she may shake up the current meta.
