Fortnite Leak Hints at New Hero Item Inspired by Airbending Ability

A trusted Fortnite leaker has revealed that a new Hero Item may be coming soon—and it appears to have similarities to the Airbending power previously introduced during Chapter 5 Season 2. This leak arrives just after the launch of Chapter 6 Season 3, which added a wave of fresh content including iconic DC heroes like Robin and Superman, new weapons, locations, and superpowers.

Early Access to Superman Sparks Surprise

One of the most unexpected changes this season is tied to the battle pass. Traditionally, one of the featured characters is time-locked, only becoming available halfway through the season. This was previously the case with Godzilla in Chapter 6 Season 1 and General Grievous in the Galactic Battle mini-season. But this time around, players can gain immediate access to the Superman skin by purchasing the Battle Bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks—a first for Fortnite.

Leaked Hero Item: Reboot Surf

In a recent post on Twitter, well-known leaker Loolo_WRLD shared details about a potential new item referred to as the "Reboot Surf Item." The image they posted showed a character riding what looks like a digital hoverboard. According to the leak, the item could behave similarly to the Airbending ability from the Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover.

This Hero Item might allow players to:

  • Boost movement speed
  • Hover mid-air during jumps or landings
  • Glide over water
  • Turn quickly while airborne

This kind of mobility-focused item could add a new layer of strategy to matches. Past Hero Items, like the Killswitch Revolvers, granted unique abilities such as dodging in midair and a temporary bullet-time effect where players float while shooting.

Hero Item Balancing Under Scrutiny

While Hero Items are generally well-received, not all changes have been welcomed. In a recent patch, Epic Games nerfed the Bass Boost—a powerful Hero Item that previously dealt 2,000 structural damage, now reduced to just 245. Its explosion radius was halved, and the blast duration trimmed from 5 seconds to 4 seconds, dramatically weakening its effectiveness against enemy builds.

Community Response to Chapter 6 Season 3

Despite mixed feelings about recent balance updates, Chapter 6 Season 3 has been widely praised. One particularly popular addition is the "Animated Dads" collection, introduced over Father’s Day weekend. Players can now play as beloved dads from classic animated shows like King of the Hill, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy—a move that has delighted long-time fans.
