CD Projekt Red Shares Update on Cyberpunk Sequel and The Witcher 4 Progress
CD Projekt Red has released a new financial report, shedding light on the current status of its major ongoing projects — the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next installment in The Witcher series.
The report covers the first quarter of 2025. According to the document, CD Projekt’s total revenue for the three-month period reached approximately $60 million. The main source of income remains Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion Phantom Liberty, which has now sold over 10 million copies in just 20 months.
Net profit for the quarter amounted to around $23 million.
As for future plans, it was confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel has officially entered the pre-production phase. The development team continues to grow — currently 96 people are working on the project. By early May, the team completed the concept phase and is now moving on to the next stage.
It’s also worth noting that the first Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, launching on the console's release day.
Meanwhile, the team behind The Witcher 4 is also expanding steadily. The game remains the studio’s top priority, with 422 developers now involved in its production and work progressing confidently.
The report also included updated figures for The Witcher 3 — total sales have surpassed 60 million copies. Combined with its expansions, the game has generated about $638 million in revenue, solidifying its status as one of the most successful RPGs of all time.
