Ronaldinho Becomes the Face of Rematch — A New Arcade Football Game from Sloclap

The studio Sloclap, best known for the action game Sifu, is currently developing Rematch — a multiplayer football simulator where you can team up with friends for fast-paced 5v5 matches. Just recently, the developers announced that legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho has become the official ambassador of the project. The news was shared through the studio’s social media channels.

The football icon — and his fans — will be pleased to know that Ronaldinho will be a playable character right from the start, giving everyone a chance to step into the shoes of a global legend. Along with the announcement, Sloclap released a video where Ronaldinho visits the studio and learns how the game is being created. In addition to Ronaldinho, two more stars have been confirmed: Barcelona’s goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

What is Rematch? Rematch is a fast-paced arcade-style football game with no offsides or fouls, where matches last around 6 minutes. Each player controls a single character, and the gameplay feels like a mix between Rocket League and Overwatch, with a strong focus on individual skill, quick plays, and team coordination. The game offers modes like 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5, including ranked matches. Platforms and Release Date Rematch is set to launch on June 19, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. An offline mode with bots is also planned for future updates.
